Notes from a Student Research Project
Table of Contents
Research starts with a question that is small enough to explore and useful enough to matter. I keep a notebook of what I read, what surprised me, and what I still do not understand.
Keep the question visible
At the top of each note I write the question in plain language. This helps me notice when a source answers a nearby question instead of the one I am trying to investigate.
Record the next step
Every session ends with one action: find another source, compare two examples, or ask someone to review the idea. A clear next step makes it easier to return to the work.
